Dear Aynsley,

Security Alert!

If you are running version 8.0 or later of the eBanking Suite, and you are using Accounts Payable Electronic Funds Transfer (APEFT) or Wire Transfer Plus (WTP), please be sure that you have considered using the security functions introduced in that version in November, 2007.  If you are using an earlier version, please consider upgrading (no charge if your maintenance is current!).
Of course, it's your choice as to whether or not you use the security functions.

A recent customer lost $45,000 when a dishonest employee embezzled funds through the EFT function.  This customer was using the current software, but had not activated the security function.  Had they done so, they would have been protected!

Briefly, the two modules within the eBanking Suite that facilitate electronically paying vendors, employee, and taxes ... APEFT and WTP ... have two types of configurable security:

1. Account Approval
This allows you to require an authorized approver to ok any changes to a vendor's banking information.  This simple feature would have protected the embezzled customer mentioned above.

2. Amount Approval
This allows you to require one or more approvers to ok APEFT and/or WTP payments at 3 different levels.  e.g. $0 to $1000 - no approval required;  $1001 to $5000 - 1 approver required;  and $5001+ - 2 approvers required.

Thank you for continuing to use our software.  We routinely get positive feedback from you and are grateful for it.  We welcome your suggestions for improvements.  In fact, that feedback has been the source of most of the improvements that have been made to the eBanking Suite!
